Collier's Minutes Are Up. Dallas Is About to Find Out Why.

Two games, a wave of injury news that reshuffled the rotation math, and a model that knows where those minutes landed. Here's how to build tonight.

00 · THE SLATE

Two games. First tip at 3:30 PM ET. That's it — that's the whole menu. MIN v DAL and LA v GS, back to back, 45 players across the model's board. On a small slate like this, you don't have the luxury of spreading risk across five matchups. Every roster decision is load-bearing.

What the model sees tonight: MIN–DAL is the richer game for DFS construction. It's got the highest-projected stud, the most injury-redistributed minutes, and the deepest value tier — nearly the entire value section lives in that matchup. LA–GS is thinner but not empty; Nneka Ogwumike and an injury-bumped Gabby Williams give you real options on that side of the card. On a two-game slate, correlation matters more than it does on a full night. Stack intelligently or you're just hoping.

01 · THE ANCHORS

The top of this slate is legitimately good. Three players are projecting north of 37 fantasy points, and the best of them — Napheesa Collier — is doing it at a salary that leaves real cap room below her.

Nneka OgwumikeLA v GS$10.9K3035.647.63.27
Dearica HambyLA v GS$9.9K3032.644.83.29

Collier is the centerpiece. At $10,700 she projects 42.5 points (p50), with a ceiling of 57.4. An injury has bumped her minutes, so the model is working off 32 — not an estimate, a consequence of real roster math. At 3.97 points per $1,000, she's also the best value in her tier. If you're building a lineup tonight and Collier isn't in it, you need a very specific reason.

Olivia Miles carries the highest salary on the board at $11,100 and the highest ceiling among guards at 51.8. She's not min-bumped — this is her baseline — which tells you her floor of 28.3 is earned, not borrowed. The question in tournament construction is whether you want her ceiling at that price or whether you'd rather fade and redirect the cap.

Paige Bueckers at $10,400 is the most interesting anchor. She's min-bumped — an injury redistributed minutes her way — and the model has her at 36 minutes and 37.8 projected. That's the kind of number that wins slates. Natasha Howard at $9,300 is the fourth anchor worth naming: 35.6 projected, 48.2 ceiling, also min-bumped. She's the cheapest stud on the board and the best bridge between the anchor tier and what's below it.

02 · THE VALUE

Here's where tonight gets interesting. The value tier is almost entirely Dallas-based, and almost entirely driven by injury-redistributed minutes. If you're wondering why there are six legitimate salary-minimum and mid-range plays in a two-game slate — that's why. Someone's missing time, and the model knows where those minutes went.

Li Yueru ↑DAL v MIN$3.3K1914.228.84.30
Alanna Smith ↑DAL v MIN$5.6K2923.939.94.27

Haley Jones and Emma Cechova are both at the $3,000 floor — the absolute minimum you can spend. Jones projects 16.2 (ceiling 30.5), Cechova 15.5 (ceiling 24.2). Both are min-bumped. The floors are different in a meaningful way: Jones's floor of 3.7 is volatile — there's real bust risk — while Cechova's 7.5 floor is tighter. In cash, Cechova is the safer play. In GPP, Jones's 30.5 ceiling is the better lottery ticket at the same price.

Maddy Siegrist ($4,400, 21.0 projected, 37.0 ceiling) and Awak Kuier ($4,300, 20.3 projected, 35.0 ceiling) are the mid-tier engines. Both min-bumped, both projecting over 4.7 points per $1K. Alanna Smith at $5,600 costs more but returns 23.9 projected and a 39.9 ceiling — she's the mid-range play that has the most balanced floor-to-ceiling range of any value option tonight (8.8 / 39.9). Li Yueru ($3,300, 14.2 projected) is the one to treat carefully — the floor of 1.7 is real, and on a two-game slate you can't afford a zero in your lineup.

03 · THE INJURY EDGE

This is the model's signature move on nights like tonight. When injuries hit before lock, minutes don't disappear — they land somewhere. The model tracks exactly where, redistributes them position-aware and minute-conserving, and reprices accordingly. Tonight, that edge is substantial.

Arike Ogunbowale ↑DAL v MIN$9.1K3630.945.93.40
Janelle Salaun ↑GS v LA$7.4K2726.839.73.62

The three Minnesota players — Collier, Howard, and a third teammate — are all absorbing redistributed minutes. So are multiple Dallas players, including Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, Siegrist, Kuier, Smith, Jones, and Yueru. That's a lot of DAL rotation players getting bumped up, which is worth keeping in mind: at some point, minutes get spread thin enough that the per-player upside moderates. The model accounts for this — it's minute-conserving by design — but it's worth understanding as a construction reality.

On the LA–GS side, Janelle Salaun ($7,400, 26.8 projected, 39.7 ceiling) and Gabby Williams ($8,400, 30.9 projected, 45.4 ceiling) are both min-bumped for GS. Williams in particular is a name to know for the LA–GS stack. 30.9 projected at $8,400 is 3.68 points per $1K, with a 45.4 ceiling. That's a real player on a real night. Salaun at $7,400 is the cheaper complement if you're building in that game.

Ogunbowale deserves a separate mention. $9,100, 30.9 projected, 45.9 ceiling. She's min-bumped and projecting nearly 31 points — in the stud range — at a salary that looks more like a mid-tier. The floor (15.1) is wide, which is the honest caveat. But the ceiling and the value (3.4 points per $1K at that salary) make her a compelling GPP piece on a night when DAL is rotation-heavy with beneficiaries.

04 · THE BUILD

Two games means correlation isn't optional — it's the game. Here's how to think about construction tonight.

Cash game anchor: Collier + Howard is the MIN stack that pays for itself. You're spending $20,000 on two players who project a combined 78.1 points (p50), with floors of 28.8 and 23.6 respectively. That's a real cash floor. Fill the rest with Cechova or Smith as your value bridge, and you have cap left for one more mid-tier.

GPP build — MIN-heavy: Collier + Miles + Howard as your core is an all-MIN triple stack. The ceiling math is aggressive: 57.4 + 51.8 + 48.2. You're spending roughly $31,100 on three players, which is steep, but the collective ceiling is the highest trio on the board. Pair with cheap DAL value — Jones and Cechova at $3,000 each — and you have room for Bueckers or Ogunbowale as the cross-game piece.

GPP build — DAL-heavy: Bueckers + Ogunbowale as the DAL backcourt anchor, then stack Siegrist or Kuier at value, and drop in Collier from MIN as your cross-stack. The DAL rotation is unusually deep tonight because of injury redistribution — multiple players absorbing minutes — which creates a legitimate argument for going DAL-heavy in tournaments where field concentration will lean MIN.

LA–GS satellite: Williams + Salaun as the GS pairing is the under-the-radar correlation on a night when the MIN–DAL game will dominate construction. Ogwumike anchors the LA side if you want to oppose. Don't ignore this game entirely — low-owned correlation from a secondary game wins more tournaments than a sixth share of the chalk stack does.

05 · THE BOTTOM LINE

Tonight's slate is small, injury-shaped, and genuinely interesting. Collier is the best player on the board by projection and value — that combination doesn't show up often at the top of a slate. The injury edge is unusually wide in MIN–DAL, with minutes redistributed across most of the Dallas rotation and several Minnesota frontcourt players; that's the model's live news signal doing its actual job. These projections are walk-forward validated — beating both naive baselines out of sample (MAE 7.02 vs. 7.11) — and the floor and ceiling numbers reflect each player's own measured volatility across 5,000 Monte Carlo draws, not a uniform range applied to everyone. That matters on a night with wide-floor value plays like Li Yueru and Jones sitting next to tight-floor plays like Cechova and Smith. Know which risk you're taking, build accordingly, and remember: on a two-game slate, there's no hiding a bad correlation decision.
