Saturday afternoon WNBA: two games, 43 players in the pool, first tip at 1:00 PM ET. Las Vegas hosts Chicago, and New York hosts Phoenix. That's it. That's the whole menu.
On a short slate, every roster decision is magnified. There's nowhere to hide a bad play and no third game to bail you out with a random 40-burger. The good news is the model has a lot to say tonight — and most of it starts with injuries redistributing minutes in ways that make certain players genuinely difficult to leave off your roster. Four of the top six projections on this card are min_bumped, meaning an injury has reshuffled playing time and the model has already absorbed that into the numbers. That's not noise. That's the edge.
The LV v CHI matchup is the engine of the slate — five of the six best value plays come from those two rosters alone. The NY v PHX game brings its own intrigue, with New York running out a loaded frontcourt and Phoenix leaning on Alyssa Thomas to hold things together. Stack considerations and correlation plays are real on a two-game slate. We'll get there.
