Dodger Stadium Is About to Become a Run Factory
The model sees KC @ LAD going over by nearly two and a half runs, COL @ ARI isn't far behind, and the DFS card has a $2,300 DH who projects better than half the field's starters. Let's get into it.
00 · THE READ
Monday gives us 10 games and, honestly, a pretty clean story. There are no moneyline edges worth acting on tonight — the market priced the sides tight enough that nothing cleared our bar — but on totals, the model is shouting in two spots, and the DFS card has real texture underneath the obvious names.
The loudest signal is KC @ LAD. The posted total is 7.5. Our model projects 9.8 runs and puts the Over at 63.1 percent — 13.1 points of edge over the market price. That's not a nudge. That's the model telling you the book is a run and a half light on this game. COL @ ARI is the secondary signal: 8.5 on the board, 11.0 projected, 11.9 points of edge. Chase Field in August with the Rockies in town is a familiar sentence, and the model agrees with the premise.
Everything else flows from there. If you believe runs are coming in those two games, you know which stacks to load and which showdown slate is worth your attention tonight.
01 · MODEL vs MARKET
Moneyline edges: Nothing cleared our bar tonight. The model found no side with 5-plus percentage points of edge over the market. On a 10-game slate that happens — the books had the sides priced fairly. No manufactured play here.
Totals edges — two cleared, and they're real:
KC @ LAD — Over 7.5 | Model projects 9.8 runs | Model Over % 63.1 | Edge: +13.1 points over market implied probability. The biggest number on the board tonight, by a margin.
COL @ ARI — Over 8.5 | Model projects 11.0 runs | Model Over % 63.0 | Edge: +11.9 points. Chase Field, August heat, Gabriel Hughes drawing the Rockies. The model wants the runs.
Two totals clearing the bar on the same night isn't something you force — tonight it just happened to be clean in both spots.
02 · THE CARD
The card tonight is totals-only. No sides.
Over 7.5 — KC @ LAD (model: 9.8, edge: +13.1 pp)
Over 8.5 — COL @ ARI (model: 11.0, edge: +11.9 pp)
That's it. Two plays, both totals, both material. A short card on a Monday isn't a problem — it means we're not filling space with marginal numbers. The moneyline market was sharp tonight; respect that and move on.
03 · DFS CORE
A heads-up before we dig in: 81 of 165 hitters are still projected lineups as of now — not confirmed. A handful of names below carry that caveat, and I'll flag the ones that matter most. Verify at lock.
The headliner in value is Jorge Polanco ($2,300, DH, NYM). His lineup is confirmed and he's facing Bryce Elder in Atlanta — 3.5 projected points per $1K and a ceiling of 17. At that salary, he barely has to do anything to pay off. That's a cash-game anchor and a GPP pivot all at once.
Derek Hill ($2,500, RF, PHI) is confirmed against Hunter Dobbins of STL. Eight projected points at 3.2 per $1K, ceiling of 17. Edmundo Sosa is right there too — same game, same opposing pitcher, $2,600 confirmed, 7.7 projected. You can stack the cheap Phillies and still have salary for the big names. Colton Cowser ($2,400, CF, BAL) rounds out the confirmed value tier, facing Dean Kremer in what the model sees as essentially a coin-flip game — 7.4 projected, 3.1 per $1K.
On the projected side (lineup not yet confirmed): Christian Koss ($2,200, 3B, SF) and Nicky Lopez ($2,500, 2B, TEX) both project well but carry the uncertainty. Check those before lock.
For cash-game floors, Yandy Diaz and Jonathan Aranda — both projected, TB vs. OAK — project 12.6 and 12.0 respectively with floors of 5 and 4. Geraldo Perdomo ($4,200, SS, ARI) is confirmed, 10.9 projected, floor of 4. Stable.

On the mound, Sonny Gray leads the board at $9,200 — 17.8 projected, 5.7 strikeouts expected, 6.3 innings, and a 58.9 percent win probability for BOS against TOR. He's the safest top-salary arm. Michael Soroka ($8,200) gets the COL matchup for ARI and the model gives him a 65.5 percent win probability — best of anyone listed — while projecting 5.9 strikeouts in 5.1 innings. His win probability is real; the shorter projected line means his upside is more win-dependent than strikeout-dependent. Trevor Rogers ($8,000, BAL) and Dean Kremer ($6,200, MIN) are essentially a coin-flip matchup between them — Rogers at 50.8 percent win prob, Kremer at 49.2. If you want the savings, Kremer's the contrarian angle in the same game.
04 · THE STACK
The optimizer's featured build pairs an ARI 4-stack with a PHI 3-stack — $49,900 combined salary, 112.2 projected points, 114.7 cash projection. That's the construction if you want the model's top-line lineup.
But let's talk about why those two stacks are the leverage plays, because it's not arbitrary.

TB vs. OAK leads on raw projection (48.7) and ceiling (86) with the best run environment factor (1.7) of any stack on the board. The weather at Oakland's open-air park — 88.7 degrees, 12 mph out to center — is legitimately favorable. This is the stack with the highest ceiling if you're trying to win a GPP outright. The catch: Diaz, Aranda, and Caminero are all projected lineups, not confirmed. You're taking some roster-construction risk.
ARI vs. COL is the second-highest projection (43.8) and ceiling (81) at the lowest salary of the top tier ($19,200). Soroka is on the mound for Arizona, the model has them winning that game at 65.5 percent, and the Over in that game cleared by nearly 12 points. The run environment score is neutral (1.0) — this is a park-neutral game where the edge comes from the matchup, not the wind. Perdomo is confirmed; Carroll is confirmed. Less lineup uncertainty than the Tampa stack.
PHI vs. STL (43.6 projected, ceiling 82, 1.3 environment) is the heat game — 95.8 degrees and 8 mph out to center in St. Louis. That's a real run-environment bump, and Dobbins hasn't been mentioned anywhere as a shutdown arm. Schwarber, Hill, and Sosa give you three confirmed pieces in a hot park.
The LAD stack (43.5 projected, 1.1 env) makes sense in the context of the Over edge in that game, but you're paying $21,200 for it — the priciest of the five. Use it selectively.
05 · SHOWDOWN
The showdown slate is KC @ LAD, locking at 10:10 PM ET. One rule to know: the captain scores and costs 1.5× the listed salary. You're paying a premium for upside, so the math only works if the ceiling is real.
Captain: Mookie Betts (CPT salary $10,500, FLEX salary $7,000). In captain mode, his ceiling of 19 flex points becomes 28.5 captain points — that's 2.7 projected captain points per $1K of captain salary. The model has him at 9.7 base projection. For a showdown in a game the model is projecting nearly 10 runs, you want someone with legitimate multi-hit upside at the top of the LAD order. Betts fits that profile, and the ceiling of 28.5 captain points is the number that justifies the cost.
Flex values:
Hunter Feduccia (C, LAD, $3,600 flex) — 6.5 projected, 1.8 per $1K, ceiling of 14. The cheapest way to get LAD exposure while keeping salary free for your captain and other spots.
Kyle Isbel (OF, KC, $3,200 flex) — 5.2 projected, 1.6 per $1K, ceiling of 12. The bring-the-Royals pivot if you want game-stack construction on a game the model thinks goes over.
Trap: Bobby Witt Jr. (SS, KC, $9,400 flex). He's the most expensive player in the pool. The model has him at 9.1 projected and 1.0 per $1K — the weakest value rate of any player at his salary tier in this slate. The name is big; the number doesn't match the price. That's the trap, and the model is straightforwardly below his salary. Don't let the reputation make the lineup decision for you. (Showdown ownership isn't something we model, so I won't guess at a fade percentage — just know the price isn't supported.)

TB @ OAK is the most favorable hitting environment on the slate — 88.7 degrees, 12 mph out to center field, HR factor of 1.5, runs factor of 1.2. That combination of heat and outgoing wind is what DFS stacks are built around. The Oakland ballpark isn't a launching pad on its own, but tonight's conditions push it in that direction.
PHI @ STL is 95.8 degrees in St. Louis with 8 mph blowing out. HR factor of 1.4. When it gets that hot in Busch Stadium, the ball carries. Hunter Dobbins is already a favorable matchup on paper; add the heat index and this game could get uncomfortable for the Cardinals' pitcher in a hurry. The runs factor (1.2) matches Oakland's — two very different ballparks, same environmental lift tonight.
HOU @ SF is the outlier in the other direction: 61.5 degrees and 13 mph out to center. That's the coldest game on the slate by a mile, and even with outgoing wind, Oracle Park in those conditions suppresses offense. Keep that in mind if you're building any Giants or Astros hitters — the park factor here is generally a negative, and tonight's temperature reinforces it.
07 · THE BOTTOM LINE
Two angles worth keeping at the top of your mind as you finalize everything tonight:
KC @ LAD Over 7.5 is the model's loudest voice on this slate. Thirteen-plus points of edge on a total that opened under 8 is a meaningful number. It's the anchor of the betting card and the logical reason to build LAD and even KC hitters in DFS. The game environment and the Showdown slate are downstream of this edge.
Jorge Polanco at $2,300 is the clearest value on the main slate. Confirmed lineup, confirmed opposing starter in Bryce Elder, 3.5 projected points per $1K with a ceiling of 17. In a contest where salary matters, getting this kind of projection at the minimum-adjacent tier frees up enormous flexibility everywhere else in your build. That's the kind of piece that quietly wins cash games while everyone else is arguing about the studs.
Check those projected lineups before lock — 81 of 165 hitters are still pending. Everything above holds as of now; a scratch or a lineup shuffle could change the calculus on the unpublished spots. Good luck out there.
